THE STATE OF ALABAMA,
Jefferson County.
    To any Licensed Minister of the Gospel in regular communion with the Christian Church or Society, of which he is a member or Judge of the Supreme, Circuit or City Court, or Chancellor within the State, or Judge of Probate, or Justice of the Peace within their respective Counties, GREETING:
    You are hereby authorized to solemnize Marriage between Mr. C. C. Chiles and Miss E. R. Nave and to join them together in matrimony, and certify the same in writing to this office, as required by law.
    Given under my hand, this 2nd day of October 1888

    KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we C. C. Chiles & D. P. Beatty are held and firmly bond unto the State of Alabama, in the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, lawful money of the United States, to the payment of which sum, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, jointly and severally, firmly, by these presents.
    THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION is such, that whereas, a license to solemnize marriage between Mr. C. C. Chiles and Miss E. R. Nave has this day been issued by the Probate Judge of said County, at their request; NOW THEREFORE, if there is no lawful cause why such marriage should not be celebrated, then this obligation is to be void, otherwise it is to remain in full force.
    Witness our hands and seals, this the 2nd day of October 1888.

Chiles is over twenty-one years of age, and has no wife; that the said Miss E. R. Nave is over eighteen years of age, and resides in ____ County, Alabama, and has no husband;

IN DISTRICT COURT, Kaufman County.

2nd D. 1st Week Dec 6" 1904

 

    THIS DAY THIS CAUSE Coming on regularly for trial, came the Plaintiff by his Attorney, and announced ready, and the Defendant having been duly and legally served with process as required by law, came not nor answered herein, but wholly made default, and whereupon, a jury being waived, the Court after hearing the pleadings, the evidence and argument of Counsel, and duly considering the same, is of the opinion and so finds, that the material allegations in Plaintiff's Petition contained are true, and that the relief prayed for therein ought to be granted.

    It is therefore considered, ordered, adjusted and decreed by the Court, that the Bonds of Matrimony heretofore and now existing between the Plaintiff P. M. Garrett and the Defendant L. J. Garrett be, and the same are hereby forever dissolved and held for naught, and that they shall no longer bear towards each other the relationship of husband and wife.
