2. I am the child of Dr. Charles Dwight Chiles born 11-13-1889 at Birmingham, Ala. died at Birmingham, Ala. on 9-5-1923 and his wife Francis (Fay) Mooring Rudd Chiles born on 10-4-1892 at Temple, Bell, Texas (still living) married on 9-6-1919.

3. The said Fay Rudd Chiles was the child of James Calvin Rudd born 5-22-1850 at Madisonville, Tenn. died Temple, Texas 5-7-21 and his wife Margaret (Maggie) Gray Mooring Rudd born 12-10-1869 at Walker County, Tex - died Austin, Tex 1-28-56 married on 2-19-1892.

4. The said Maggie Rudd was the child of Charles Gray Little Mooring born on 11-10-1844 at Grimes Co., Tex died at Mineral Wells, Tex on 7-16-1903 and his wife Francis Catherine Ross or Catherine Francis Ross born on 5-21-1847 at Fort Bend Co., Texas, died at Nacogdoches, Tex. on 12-12-1911 married on 2-12-1869.

5. The said Catherine Francis Ross or Francis Catherine Ross was the child of Ely Franklin Ross born on 1-7-1808 at Jefferson Co., Mississippi, died at Walker Co., Tex on 9-24-1884 and his wife Mary Hodge born at ___ on 1820 died at Walker Co., Tex on 5-1885 married 1842.

6. The said Mary Hodge was child of William Hodge born at Ogelthorp Co., Ga on 1792 and died on 11-1826 at Brazoria Co., Tex and his wife Margaret Welch born at ___ on __ and died at __ on __. Married about 1815.

7. The said William Hodge was the child of Alexander Hodge born at Penn on 1762 died at Texas on 8-17-1836 at either Columbus, Colorado Co., Texas or Ft. Bend Co., Texas and his wife Ruth Hodge born at __ on 1769. Married about 1788 and died at __ on 1831.

HODGE, ALAXENDER E. - Born in Pennsylvania in 1762. He was a soldier in the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War. He came to Texas in 1825, as one of the "Old Three Hundred" families of Austin's first colony, receiving title to a league of land in what is now Fort Bend County, April 12, 1828. His wife Ruth Hodge was born in 1769 and died in 1831. Mr. Hodge died near what is now the city of Columbus, Colorado County, August 17, 1836. His grave is lost. The Lady Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had a marker erected in his honor in Sam Houston Park, Houston.

Children of Mr. and Mrs. Alaxendar E. Hodge were Archie, born in Oglethorp, Georgia in 1790; William; Nancy, born in 1794; John; Ruth; Alexander E., Jr.; Mary, born in 1801; James W.; born in 1803; Cynthia; and Lucinda Hodge.
