HODGE, ALAXENDER E. - Born in Pennsylvania in 1762. He was a soldier in the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War. He came to Texas in 1825, as one of the "Old Three Hundred" families of Austin's first colony, receiving title to a league of land in what is now Fort Bend County, April 12, 1828. His wife Ruth Hodge was born in 1769 and died in 1831. Mr. Hodge died near what is now the city of Columbus, Colorado County, August 17, 1836. His grave is lost. The Lady Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had a marker erected in his honor in Sam Houston Park, Houston.

Children of Mr. and Mrs. Alaxendar E. Hodge were Archie, born in Oglethorp, Georgia in 1790; William; Nancy, born in 1794; John; Ruth; Alexander E., Jr.; Mary, born in 1801; James W.; born in 1803; Cynthia; and Lucinda Hodge.

Two of the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Richardson were Alfred Richardson of Houston and Rev. Walter Richardson of San Antonio. Rev. Richardson was Rector of Saint Marks' Church for about forty years.

William Hodge, son of Alexander E. Hodge, Sr. was born in Oglethorp, Georgia in 1792 and was married to Maggie Welch. Children of this union were:
