John Hodge and Mary Eliott settle in Penn about the middle of the 18th century.

Alexander Hodge born in Penn 1762 died 1836 saw service under Marion in South Carolina as partisan ranger. 
Alexander Hodge and Ruth Hodges married about 1788. Died in Ft. Bend Co. Texas Aug. 1836.

William Hodge born 1792 died Dec. 1826. 
William Hodge and Margaret Welch married about 1815.

Ely F. Ross and Mary Hodge married 1842.

Catherine Frances Ross born May 21, 1847. Died Dec 11, 1912 - Nacogdoches

Charles Grey Mooring born Nov. 10, 1845. Died July 16, 1903 - Min. Wells.

Charles Grey Mooring and Frances Ross married Feb. 12, 1869.

Maggie Grey Mooring born Dec. 10, 1869.

James Calvin Rudd and Maggie Mooring married Feb. 15, 1901.

In 1730 Isac Ross was in North Carolina. Was pure Highland Scotch and is said to have had all of the Scotch Presbyterian characteristics to a marked degree.

Lillian's husband was Harry Sidney Baum.  They married 7-17-1916.

J. D. Avis purchased home at 1318 Tenth in 1912.  The family sold it in 1953.

Helen Neelley Avis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Avis II married Buck Joe Miller on 10-24-1953 in Wichita Falls.

Ruby Cornelia Avis married Ralph C. Dunkelberg on 4-22-1922 at Wichita Falls.  They then moved to Fort Wayne, Ind.

Ralph C. Dunkelberg died at 39 of heart disease on Wednesday after 15 years of marriage.  Buried in Wichita Falls.  He was born in Penn., they had a son, Ralph, Jr.

Ruby Dunkelberg married James Blair Baker in Wichita Falls.

Minnie Camille Avis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Avis, married Marvin L. McCullough on Feb. 15 in Wichita Falls.

Gretchen Avis, daughter of J. D. Avis married William Urlin McCutchen in Wichita Falls on 11-27-1922.

Mrs. Gretchen McCutchen, 36 years old, died of brain hemorrhage less than a year of J. D. Avis death.  She left daughter Jean, 12 and son Billy, 7.

Jean McCutchen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. U. McCutchen was granddaughter of J. D. Avis.
