1909 – J. D. is listed as a stockman with an office at 710 1/2 Indiana St.  Residence at 1011 16th St.  Jake shown listed by his other nickname, Mannie was a carrier for the Wichita Times.  J. D., Jr. was listed as J. David, also a stockman.  No listing for Avis Hardware.
 
1910 – Avis, Rountree & Company.  Partners are J.D. Avis, C.W. Rountree and R. H. Joye.  718 Indiana.
 
1911 – Avis Hardware.  Jake’s occupation is listed as a clerk.
 
1914 – Avis Hardware at 718 Indiana St.  J. D. is listed as a Vice-President at 1st National Bank.

Avis is listed as trustee for the Woodrow-Lee Trust.  This must be a typo as the listing for Woodrow-Lee shows J. D. Avis as trustee for Woodrow-Lee Oil Operators.
