Know all men by these presents that we James Stephens & Edward Stephens are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of fifty pounds Current money to be paid to the said Commonwealth to which payment well and truly to be made
We bind our selves our heirs & Exrs & admrs jointly and Severally by these presents Sealed with our Seals & Dated this 17 Day of Augt 1827
The Condition of this obligation is that if there is no lawful cause to obstruct a marriage intended to be solemnized Shortly between the above bound James Stephens & Miss Elizabeth Avis Daughter of Mary Avis Both being over 21 years of age then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force.
