In the Name of God amen. I Hugh Sanders of lesserly[?] of Spotsylvania being Sick and Weak in Body yet of a Sound and perfect understanding and Memory do constitute this my Last Will and Testament in manner following Viz
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Catharine Sanders the whole the whole of my lands and plantation in Spotsylvania County together with this house wherein I now dwell during her life and after death to my Son Nathaniel Sanders to him and his heirs forever he first paying to my Executors half the value thereof in specie to be applyed [sic] to the payment of my Just Debts Contracted before the Revolution or Change in Government - - -
I leave my land in Culpeper [sic] County lying upon Cedar River to be Equally divided Between my Two son [sic] Robert and Charles the upper part of the said land for Robert and the lower part for Charles to them and their heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Catharine Sanders a Negro Girl named Sarah a horse & saddle a feather bed & furniture and Cow & Calf & two Sheep to her and her heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Rosey Sanders a Negro Girl named Rachel a Horse & saddle a feather bed & furniture and Aleon & Calf and Two Sheep to her and her heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Abigal Sanders two negro boys viz Wyatt & David a horse & saddle a feather bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf a [sic] Two sheep to her and her heirs forever.
As I have been leberal [sic] to my son John Sanders and given him his full proportion of my Estate my desire is that he have nothing more of my Estate but one Sow and pigs. I also desire that if any of my children should Die without heirs that their part should be Qually [sic] divided between the others.
it [sic] is also my desire after my decease and after paying all my Just and Lawfull [sic] Debts that the remaining part of my estate both Real and personal should be Given to my Dear wife Catharine Sanders during her life and after her death to be divided between my children hereafter named Elizabeth Craige Sarah Gatewood Mildred Jones Nathaniel Sanders Robt Sanders Charles Sanders Mary Lee Ann Tally Catharine Sanders Rosey Sanders and Abigal Sanders. This Division to be Equal except as to Elizabeth Craige and Mary Lee whom I desire my Reeuve[?] Thirty five pounds less than the others and I do Hereby and Constitute this my Last will and Testament Revoking and Disannuling [sic] all others heretofore made and Lastly I do Constitute to John Sanders Lewis Craige Robert Sanders Peter Gatewood & Anthony Frazer Executors to this my Last Will and Testament. I [sic] witness where of I have hereunto set my hand & seal this fifth day of August 1781
