Well-Known Man Is Dead

Ralph C. Dunkelberg, Aged 39, Succumbs To Heart Disease At Hospital.

    Ralph C. Dunkelberg, aged 4306 Drury Lane, who was widely known here, died of heart disease at 3:15 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of two months.
    Mr. Dunkelberg founded and was president of the Royal Manufacturing Company here. He was a former president of the Crusaders, an organization active here during the prohibition era, active in the Democratic Party and a candidate for public office on two occasions.
    Until last November, the deceased was an FHA official here. He was a veteran of the World War having enlisted in the aviation corps of the U. S. Navy in March, 1918, and serving until after close of the war. Mr. Dunkelberg was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

        Was Son Of Industrialist.
    Surviving are the widow, Ruby A.; a son, Ralph Jr., at home; the mother, Mrs. Anna C. Hoover, of Springfield, Ill., and a brother, Charles, of this city. His father, the late Charles A. Dunkelberg, was an official of the S. F. Bowser Company for many years.
    Mr. Dunkelberg was born in Pennsylvania, but had resided here most of his life. He was educated in Fort Wayne public schools, having been graduated from Central High School in 1916, Culver Military Academy, Tome School and the University of Michigan. He was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity at the University of Michigan.
    Following graduation from the university, Mr. Dunkelberg spent nearly three years in Wichita Falls, Tex., developing the family oil interests.
    The body was removed to the Getz & Cahill Funeral Home and may be viewed there from 7 p.m. today until Friday morning when it will be removed to the residence. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon.
