Obituary of James David Avis

Brother J. D. Avis of Wichita Falls, 74 years of age, died at his home in that city on Sunday, Sept. 30. Brother Avis was Past Grand Master of the Grand Council, Royal and Select Masters, of Texas. He served for a number of years as a member of the Committe on Masonic Education and Servie of The Grand Lodge of Texas. Brother Avis was a Past Master of Wichita Falls Lodge No. 635 and was active in both York and Scottish Rite Freemansonry. For many years past he has been engaged in the cattle business.
