Dear Betsy and Charlie,
For several weeks I have wanted to tell you a bit about family history. After your mother and Hudda went to Nacogdoches to get some "family treasures" (letters etc.) Aunt Bert and her history came to light. Hudda wanted me to tell her anything I could—so I did. Then Andrena found some letters from Aunt Bert to mother Maggie Rudd and onto "Auntie" Ross Hall. So I wanted you to know too. Also in your information chest you might like to know that our mother and father went to San Antonio to be married by "Cousin Walter Richardson" dean of the St. Marks Episcopal Church. His mother was Aunt Lucinda Hodge and was at the ceremony. Also "Cousin Walter" was buried next to the altar after 40 years and a large portrait with flowing white beard and gown in the annex hall and "Aunt Lucinda's" portrait is in the children's room.*

As long as I am writing about "family past". I never liked your page about Aunt Bert being "wild" and grandfather mooring killing a man. He shot a man - and soon after that they moved to Mineral Wells, Tx - where he opened a small hotel-boarding house. I have a photos taken by the "Grandparents" "the Rudds" with Fay, Charlie & Madge  - a baby "the Halls" with son Martel "Aunt Bert" all at the back of the boarding house with no date but I would guess 1898-99.

* Lew's mother (94) in San Antonio is a member of the Church and they sent me some information on his life. Every time I ever went to S.A. I always went to St. Marks,
