Alex. E. Hodge testifies that Alexander Hodge, dec., arrived in the Republic in November 1827 was married and was entitled to 1 labor (having received 1 league) at $1.2 per labor of pasture and $2.5 per labor of arable land and $3.5 per labor of irrigable land.

This labor is on east side of Brazos River 9 miles from Richmond. 
It is on north boundary of A. Hodge land (the original Mexican grant ?), which lies: 
East edge is 13 miles west of corner of Ft. Bend County. 
West edge is 14 miles west of corner of Ft. Bend County. 
From Brazos River to about 8 miles North of river.

A Walker County grant to heirs of William Hodge lies about 11 miles WSW of Huntsville on the west side of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River.  From the river, the north boundary goes 3 miles west, the west boundary goes 2 miles south, and the south boundary goes back to river (3.5 miles).
